It is truly a proud moment for all of us! Our very own Kamiya Jani, the Editor-In-Chief of Curly Tales has won a National Award! She won the Favourite Travel Creator Award and was presented the same by the prime minister of the country, Narendra Modi. The award was given to her for her contributions in highlighting the hidden jewels of India. While presenting her the awards, the PM shared some important insights about tourism and supporting the local economy.
This Is What PM Modi Told Kamiya Jani At National Creators Award
Kamiya Jani recently won a National Creators Award for Favourite Travel Creators, adding another feather to her cap. The founder of Curly Tales highlighted the importance of exploring India and underscored how beautiful India truly is.
PM Modi concurred with what she said and went on to impart some insight. He first spoke of how people are always in a rush to visit Dwarka and once they’re there, they’re in an equal hurry to leave.
PM Modi mentioned that if one is visiting such places, the least they should do is stay overnight. He also advised that around ten per cent of your total travel budget should be spent on supporting the local economy. This could mean purchasing local handicrafts or eating locally.
Why Is It Important To Support Local Economy When Travelling
PM Modi is certainly not the first person to highlight the importance of supporting the local economy. It is important for a number of reasons. First, it brings business to people who might not be as privileged. Supporting their livelihood in this way could help them in the long run.
When one purchases local things, they’re also helping to sustain artistic traditions that sometimes go back aeons! So, be sure to do it whenever you’re travelling next.
