PM Modi Unveils Towering Statue Of National Emblem At The New Parliament

National Emblem

A mega bronze statue of India’s National Emblem weighing 9,500 kgs and 6.5 metres high has been built atop the new parliament in New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, unveiled the magnificent statue in the presence of the workers, Lok Sabha speaker, Om Birla and Union Minister, Hardeep Singh Puri and many others. The enactment of the majestic National Emblem, from the conceptualising to casting has crossed at least eight stages of preparation. The process of getting a computerised design to get the final bronze statue comprised the eight stages of building the statue.

Historic Milestone Achieved

India has achieved a new milestone by creating this majestic structure at the new parliament. In keeping with the thought behind ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, the statue has been built with the expertise of over 100 artisans from across the country. These artisans dedicated over six months of designing, crafting and casting to making this iconic structure come alive. According to news reports, the entire structure was divided into 150 segments and then eventually, assembled on the roof. The assembling process itself of the national emblem began in late April and took about two months to complete.

The four lions in the national emblem were mounted back to back on an abacus.  The frieze of the structure has sculptures of an elephant, a horse, a bull and a lion separated by dharm chakras.
