India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the mega national tribal festival, ‘Aadi Mahotsav 2023’ at Delhi’s Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium. The inauguration event was attended by Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda. Modi also paid a floral tribute to Birsa Munda, a tribal freedom fighter. Moreover, he went around and keenly observed all the artistic displays at various stalls at the festival. He also spoke about the tribal community’s welfare and India’s mantra.
Aadi Mahotsav 2023 In Delhi
PM Narendra Modi inaugurated Aadi Mahotsav 2023 and spoke about 21st century India’s mantra, ‘SabkaSaath, Sabka Vikas’. Narendra Modi has led the team in implementing policies for the welfare of the nation’s tribal population. He is also paying appropriate regard to their contribution to the expansion and development of the nation.
The Aadi Mahotsav honours the spirit of tribal crafts, cuisine, culture and commerce. It is an annual event by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs of the Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation Limited (TRIFED). This year the festival is held at Major Dhyan Chand National stadium in Delhi from February 16 to February 27. With more than 200 stalls, the event will highlight the rich and varied heritage of tribes across India. Since 2023 is celebrated as the International Year of Millets, a special focus will be showcasing ‘Shree anna’ grown by the tribals, at the Mahotsav.

A Variety Of Different Stalls From Handicrafts To Cuisines
Entry to Aadi Mahotsav 2023 is completely free for everyone to attend. The event will be thrown open for the people at 2 pm on February 16. The exhibition will feature 1,000 craftsmen selling and displaying handicrafts, handlooms, pottery, and jewellery from 28 states and union territories. Additionally participating are 39 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras from 17 states and UTs.
Visitors can try a variety of foods from various tribal areas of India at the event, including Adivasi laddu, Mahua laddu, Madwa roti, Litti chokha, and Mahua laddu, among others. They can also purchase many staples, like black pepper from Thandwi farmers and scented Joha rice from Assam.
The event will feature a range of products, such as exquisite handcrafted jewellery from the North-East and the distinctive Dokra style, quality textiles and weaves, including Maheshwari, Eri, Karvathi Kathi silk sarees, Tassar silks, and Pashmina shawls. Additionally, there will be paintings, lac jewellery, Moonj Grass basketry, blue ceramics from Jaipur, and more that will be displayed in one location.
