The city of Pune will be painted rainbow as the Pune Pride Parade is all set to be held on June 4. The event will highlight social injustice and the very real need to change gender perspectives in society. The Pune Pride has collectively decided not to involve any politics in the parade rally. All the participants are asked to stay away from politics. Hence, they are asked to only carry or raise slogans that concern the rights of their community. This year, the event will be organised by the YUTAK Charitable Trust.
YUTAK founder, Anil Ukarande said that they do not want the main objective of the parade to get diluted. The main objective of the parade is to protect the rights of the community. Hence, the parade will not include any political banner, slogan, or colour. He also mentioned that the political parties can participate in the parade, but only to support the main cause.
About 11 years ago, Bindumadhav Khire started the Pune Pride parade. Khire is the director of the BQRF Trust and also one of the early activists who led the LGBTQI movement in the country. The parade went on to become a very important date in the calendar of the LGBTQI community. It is attended by people from Mumbai and many other places.

Supporters Will Be Honoured During The Parade
The Pune Pride participants will receive mentoring from Khire’s BQRF Trust. Numerous businesses have publicly expressed their support for the neighbourhood and sent officials to the first editions of Pune Pride. The parade traditionally begins and ends on JM Road in Pune.
Khire said that Ukarande has organised Pride marches in Pimpri Chinchwad, making him the generation member with the most expertise. The walk would be supervised by BQRF, which would also provide financial and technical assistance.
The LGBTQI community will also honour police officials, allies, parents, and other supporters of the cause during Pune Pride. When the Pune Pride employed bouncers in response to security concerns from some community members in the past, people took notice.
