Pune commuters will soon experience some relief from the city’s traffic congestion with the upcoming partial opening of the Ganesh Khind Road Flyover. Starting May 1, one side of the flyover, connecting Bremen Chowk to E-Square, will be opened to traffic. This marks a significant milestone in the much-awaited project aimed at easing the daily traffic.
Ganesh Khind Road Flyover To Partially Open For Traffic On May 1
This flyover in Pune has generated a lot of interest and is anticipated to be finished by August. After the completion of the entire stretch from Baner to Raj Bhavan, the commuters will get to cover the distance more quickly, skipping the congested areas of the city.
Shivajinagar MLA Siddharth Shirole shared the exciting update recently, reported Jagran. He emphasised how the partial opening of the flyover will offer much-needed respite to those travelling on Ganesh Khind Road, one of the city’s most congested routes. The opening of one side of the flyover will greatly reduce congestion on this busy section.
Daily commuters will feel better when the entire flyover is finished by August. The construction of the flyover is anticipated to greatly cut down on travel times, particularly during rush hours. It will also facilitate easier access between important areas of Pune.

CCTV Monitoring System Also In The Works
Alongside the flyover update, Pune’s CCTV monitoring system will soon undergo a significant transformation. Currently, approximately 10,000 CCTV cameras are present in the city, overseen by various organisations, including the Metro, PMC, and Pune Police. However, inadequate maintenance and quality have led to security concerns.
As per the Jagran reports, a thorough CCTV monitoring policy will be implemented within a month to address this. In the near future, a unified strategy will be implemented to improve surveillance throughout Pune.
One the Ganesh Khind Road Flyover is finished, Pune residents will be able to commute in a more efficient, quicker and comfortable way. Additionally, improved security with an upgraded CCTV network will also enhance the city’s urban infrastructure.
Starting May 1, traffic on Ganesh Khind Road will certainly start to move a bit more quickly.
