Pune’s residents have been waiting for a long time for the operations to begin at the Pune airport’s new terminal building. Finally, the much-awaited day of the terminal commencing operations is just around the corner. The authorities are all set to start operations here on July 14. Get ready to notice a major shift in flight operations from the present building to the newly constructed one.

Pune Airport New Terminal Building To Commence Operations On July 14

According to a report by Times of India, the building will start operations 126 days after its inauguration. With the grand opening of this building, a lot of new processes will be implemented for hassle-free movement and journeys. The services are ready to kickstart with Air India and Air India Express. Both airlines will operate flights from July 14 at the new terminal building.

The first flight to take off from this terminal will be Air India flight AI-858 bound for New Delhi, according to a report by The Indian Express. The Airports Authority of India shared that the operations will commence at this terminal in phases. After Air India and Air India Express, other airlines will too begin their services following a phased shift.

In a conversation with Times of India, Santosh Dhoke, the airport director stated that these two airlines will look over 32 flight operations in the first phase of the new terminal. Several airlines are likely to shift to Pune Airport’s new terminal building by the initial few days of August. The airport authorities are planning to conclude this major shift by August 5.

More About The New Building

Murlidhar Mohol shared a beautiful picture of the new terminal.

Murlidhar Mohol, Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation stated that the terminal will begin offering services to passengers “after completing the requirements of CISF personnel & other technicalities.” According to his X post, he will provide the boarding card to the first passenger at the terminal on Sunday.

Spanning over 52,000 square metres, this new terminal building can control a passenger footfall of 9 million people annually. With 34 check-in counters, electric buses, and more spectacular amenities, this building aims to provide smooth travel experiences.
