Mohali district’s Derabassi assembly constituency experienced waterlogging as a result of the two days’ worth of non-stop rain. The lands near the Ghaggar River were flooded. People residing in the buildings in Derabassi’s Gulmohar City Extension were trapped by 12 to 15 feet of water before the NDRF crew arrived to conduct the rescue. The NDRF team, MLA Kuljit Randhawa, and DC Mohali all arrived at the location.
Several locations in the city experienced waterlogging on Sunday as a result of the heavy rain. Additionally, water invaded homes, severely damaging furniture and equipment. Residents are blaming the unequal levelling of roads and sewage blockage for the predicament.

The district authorities in Rupnagar and Patiala also ordered the evacuation of residents from several low-lying regions after rain, in addition to asking officials to keep an eye on the developing situation. Following rain, the level of various water bodies climbed to a perilous point.
In Rupnagar, rivers and rivulets had excessive water flow, resulting in waterlogging throughout the entire district. Meanwhile, the sewerage system remained clogged as a result of the persistent rain, which resulted in severe waterlogging in urban areas and damaged people’s property. Most of Patiala experienced a flood-like condition as rainfall penetrated residents’ homes in the ancient city area.
In Chandigarh, authorities have asked locals to avoid stretches of roads that are waterlogged. Between Saturday and Sunday in July, the city saw its highest 24-hour rainfall total, shattering a record that had stood for over 23 years. In addition, it has rained the most in a single day this season.
