India is set to experience one of the warmest March months this year! Reports have suggested that the country will face above-average temperatures throughout the month and the maximum temperatures can rise to 40°C in several areas. Amidst all this, some parts of the country will experience light rain showers as well. So, to help you navigate the week ahead, we have compiled the latest weather updates by IMD for major cities in India.
IMD Predicts Rain For Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad This Week
The temperature in Delhi-NCR has risen sharply over the past few days but thankfully, some relief awaits this week! The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted temperatures may reach a scorching 31-33°C on March 10. However, from March 11, the forecast predicts partly cloudy skies with morning mist. Amid this weather, strong surface winds travelling at speeds of 20-30 kmph are likely to prevail over the Indo-Gangetic Plains on March 11 and 12. This development is likely to bring light rain to the Capital on March 14, on Holi.
IMD also predicted varied weather conditions across Karnataka in the coming days. Pre-monsoon heavy rains are likely in Bengaluru and the southern parts of Karnataka this week. As per IMD’s prediction, 30-40% more pre-monsoon rainfall is expected in the region this time. Meanwhile, Northern Karnataka is likely to face intense heatwave conditions.
Also, ahead of an intense summer, Hyderabad is likely to receive rainfall in various regions. According to weather experts, the city will witness very localised heat-induced isolated rainfall this week.

As per the forecast, hot and humid conditions will take over parts of Mumbai and its surrounding districts of Thane and Raigad this week.
