Actor and director Rajat Kapoor, known for superhits like Ankhon Dekhi, Bheja Fry, and Scam 1992, is a powerhouse of superhits in Bollywood. For those unfamiliar with the actor, he is as honest as an open book. The Drishyam star never minces words when it comes to sharing his unfiltered opinions. So, when he joined our anchor, Tonakshi Kalra, on this episode of Tere Gully Mein, she asked him to give his two cents on the infamous Mumbai vs Delhi debate. Sorry Delhiites! Rajat Kapoor’s love affair with Bedmi Aloos and Kachoris could not stop him from choosing the financial capital as the winner! Scroll down to discover why Rajat Kapoor finds his true home and comfort in Mumbai over Delhi, his childhood birthplace.

Rajat Kapoor Finds His Home And Comfort In Mumbai

Delhi-born Rajat Kapoor fondly recalled his childhood days in Chandni Chowk. His envious childhood was filled with endless feasts of Kachoris, Bedmi Aloos, Matris, and Parathas. But to everyone’s surprise, including our Delhi native Tonakshi, the actor revealed that Delhi no longer feels like home. Somewhere along the way, he found his heart captured by the city of dreams!

When Delhi-born Tonakshi asked him if he found it difficult to adjust in Mumbai as a Delhi da munda, Rajat quipped, “The first six months in Bombay were very difficult as I couldn’t get used to the rhythm and culture of the city.” He adds, “As a Delhi native, I was brought up with a mix of aggression and love, something that Bombay differs in. Now, I cannot live anywhere else except Bombay.”

The actor who initially came to Mumbai to make films now finds his heart here. But Delhiites, don’t hang your heads just yet! Rajat’s loyalty to Delhi’s street food remains unshaken, as proven by his quick picks in our This or That game, where Delhi’s flavours won every time!
