During conversations, Rakul Preet Singh reflected on her stressful time in Aizawl.

Rakul Preet Singh’s Childhood Days In Aizawl

Coming from an Army background, Rakul Preet Singh, understood what it’s like to live in the constant fear of losing a parent at the border, changing cities, making new friends, adjusting to yet another unknown place, and more. She recalled the time when her father was posted on the Manipur border. That’s when the family stayed in Aizawl, the capital of Mizoram, for three and a half years.

Rakul contemplated that as kids, it is hard to understand the army profession. She shared that her mother was under extreme stress and constantly worried about the well-being of her father. This setting in Aizawl took a toll on her mother’s mental health.

Rakul elaborated that at the time, the availability of mobile phones was limited. Due to safety reasons, her father wasn’t allowed to contact them from the borders. They received updates from the base units and used satellite phones for communication with the help of an intermediary. That is quite a stressful experience.

She Looks At The Bigger Picture

Having experienced such tough conditions and stressful days during her childhood, she was trained well for adult life. Rakul mentioned, “Because you have seen all of that, today, you don’t feel upset about small things not working in life.” She is astonished when individuals cry over spilt milk.

The actor said, “There is life beyond shopping, eating in restaurants, partying; (being an Army kid) life becomes pretty tough.” On hearing this, Kamiya reflected that people don’t bother to think that they are enjoying life peacefully because the jawans are protecting the country at the borders. That is 100% true.
