January 22 – finally the day of Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha has arrived! And now that the ceremony has concluded, the devotees of Lord Ram have received the first look of Ram Lalla at the temple. The idol of Lord Ram depicts the lord as a five-year-old child and is fondly called Ram Lalla. Additionally, the idol is carved out of a black stone and is decked with jewellery and tilak. The much-anticipated Pran Pratishtha of Ram Mandir concluded in Ayodhya and the devotees finally got a glimpse of Ram Lalla idol at the temple. Seen holding a gold bow and arrow in his hands and a silver and red tilak adorning his forehead, the idol has left people mesmerised. Sculptor Arun Yogiraj portrayed Ram Lalla as a five-year-old child as described in the scriptures.

The idol is 51 inches tall, as expected of a five-year-old child. “This idol was chosen over the others because it captured innocence, divinity, and royalty at their finest,” said Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra about the idol.

Furthermore, the Lord Ram idol is decked from head to toe in jewellery, flowers, and a yellow dhoti. In Hindu culture, this phase of age depicts innocence in life and was thus chosen as the idol. As per sculptor Ayun Yogiraj, placed extra emphasis on Ram Lalla’s lotus-like eyes, as described in many holy scriptures.
