In a recent episode of Tere Gully Mein, Ridhi Dogra, the talented Indian actress, relived her nostalgic college days, visited her go-to spots in GK M-Block Market and also opened up about her career choices. From studying psychology at Kamala Nehru College in Delhi to starring in a movie with Shah Rukh Khan, she has certainly come a long way. During this episode, she also revealed the one OTT series that stopped her from changing her career path and going back to psychology. Read on to learn which one it was!
Ridhi Dogra Played ‘First Thing That Comes To Mind’
After exploring every special corner of Ridhi’s college, she took us to her go-to Bhel Puri stall just outside the gate of Kamala Nehru College. While reminiscing about the taste of the bhel puri she had after years, we played a fun game with Ridhi Dogra to break the ice. While playing ‘First Thing That Comes to Mind’, she was given some words, and without overthinking it, she had to instantly say the first thing that came to her mind. The first word we asked her was ‘Pyaar’, to which she replied, ‘Shah Rukh Khan.’ When the word ‘OTT’ came up, she said, ‘Asur.’ Ridhi continued, “When I did Asur, it got me onto OTT; otherwise, I would have changed professions.”
For her, Asur was a great start to her OTT journey. She said, “If Asur hadn’t happened, I don’t think I would have done OTT and then continued acting.” According to her, Asur came at just the right time; otherwise, she wouldn’t have been a part of the blockbuster movie Jawan and many more upcoming projects.
For Her, ‘Dating’ Is A Western Concept
The conversation took a fun turn when the topic of dating came up. Ridhi believes that dating is not an Indian concept, and it is more associated with Western culture. In the middle of the game, we gave her the word ‘date’ and asked what came to her mind after hearing it. She laughed and replied, “Ramadan.” She cleverly played with the word ‘date’, associating it with ‘khajoor’, which is traditionally used to break the fast during Ramadan. Jokes aside, she said, “Dating hamare country mein kaha hoti hai? I cannot go on a blind date. First, I have to know the person before I spend intimate time with them.” We then moved on to her thoughts about exes, asking whether she stays friends with them even after parting ways.
