The metro game in Riyadh is levelling up again, folks! Saudi Arabia’s capital just got itself another shiny new metro station, and trust us, it’s a big win for commuters and city explorers alike. On Thursday, Riyadh’s Public Transport Authority announced the launch of a new metro station, Hassan bin Thabet Street, on the city’s busy Orange Line. Yep, that’s Line 3 of the massive Riyadh Metro network, stretching from Jeddah Road in the west to the Second Eastern Ring Road near Khashm Al Aan in the east. If you’ve been stuck in traffic dreaming of better ways to get around, your prayers just got answered.

Good news, Riyadh! The city’s ever-growing metro is getting even better with a brand-new station on the Orange Line. And yes, that means getting around just got a whole lot easier.
The Orange Line, for those not keeping count, covers 41km and links up major spots across the capital. It’s part of the broader Riyadh Metro system, which has become the backbone of Saudi Arabia’s plans to modernise public transport. With 176km of rail and 85 stations (eight of which are major transfer hubs), the city’s slowly but surely becoming a commuter’s paradise.

Building A Smarter Capital
Let’s face it, no one enjoys sitting in bumper-to-bumper traffic, especially with Riyadh’s growth in full swing. That’s where this metro expansion comes in. The network is all about cutting down congestion, reducing travel time, and giving people a greener, smarter way to move around. If Dubai’s got its fancy trams and the Dubai Metro, Riyadh’s not far behind with its bold transport revamp.
This isn’t the first upgrade this year either. Back in April, two other stations, Railway Station and Jarir District Station, opened along the same Orange Line. Since then, residents have noticed smoother rides and easier access to key areas. The addition of Hassan bin Thabet Street Station will only boost those benefits, making cross-city travel more convenient for everyone.
So, skip the stress as the Orange Line’s latest stop is ready to save you time to skip the jammed roads!
