Sailing Prodigy Zahaan Hemrajani Bags 1st Place At The Open Skiff Indian National Championship

Zahaan Hemrajani, a sailing prodigy and the son of Ashish Hemrajani— Founder and CEO of BookMyShow— bagged big wins at the prestigious O’pen Skiff Nationals. The young lad was declared the overall winner in the Under-12 category at the prestigious water sporting event. He was also announced as the overall winner in the Open Category. Zahaan Hemrajani Wins Accolades At The O’pen Skiff National Sailing Championship

The young sailor ranked 19th in the Under-12 World Championship in Italy in 2023. Zahaan Hemrajani kickstarted 2024 by emerging triumphant at the O’pen Skiff Nationals in Mandwa, Maharashtra. Navigating the waters with excellent skill and precision, he proved his mettle in the world of competitive sailing. His relentless dedication and temperament set him apart from his competitors. 

The child prodigy expressed his heartfelt gratitude to his coaches and his school. He stated that winning the O’pen Skiff Indian National was a dream come true. Moreover, Zahaan Hemrajani admitted that the level of competition was incredibly high and he needed to put his best foot forward. The young sailor felt honoured to be given this platform to perform. He stated that the win motivates him to continue pushing his boundaries and striving for excellence in the world of sailing.

His Father, BookMyShow Founder & CEO Ashish Hemrajani Inspired Him To Take Up Sailing

The child is training under the 24Seven Sailing Team helmed by Umesh and Amid Ved. He is a student of class 6 at the Oberoi International School which continues to support him on the days he misses out on his academics due to races. Zahaan Hemrajani’s passion for sailing comes from his father, Ashish Hemrajani. Under the guidance of his coaches and mentors at 24Seven Sailing Team, Zahaam picked up the sport quickly, at an early age. Mentor, Amish Ved expects to see the rising sailing prodigy perform at very high levels, internationally.
