What Is It?
Located in a secluded part of Goa, Salaulim Dam is a hidden gem of South Goa that is peaceful and captures great views of the surrounding nature making it an ideal picnic spot where you can spend your leisurely hours basking in the sunlight and indulge in bird watching.
The dam lies on the Salaulim River, a tributary of Zuari River which is about 5 km from Sanguem town. It is also the only resource for entire South Goa’s drinking water. The dam is spread over an area of approx 24 sq km.

The dam is a quiet place situated in South Goa, it is a pleasant spot to lay your mats and enjoy bird watching, book reading or simply gazing at the water of the dam.
The most intriguing part about the dam is its unique design. The dam drops down to a height of around 140 feet, and it curved in a rim-like shape structure which forces the water gushing downwards that makes for a spectacular sight.
You can also take a trip down to the botanical garden, the area around the dam is full of lush greenery and to sit back and relax. The garden is designed based on the pattern of the Brindavan Gardens in Mysore.
