The kingdom of Saudi Arabia has a rich heritage and it sees a lot of tourists from around the world for religious tourism. It’s no secret that Muslims from around the world travel to the kingdom to perform Umra or Hajj. And recently, Saudi Arabia has been introducing some changes to its visa policies for people travelling to the country. And keeping up with this, they recently introduced an e-visa waiver for British and Irish nationals. Here is all about this visa development.

In a recent report by Khaleej Times, it was revealed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Saudi Arabia has now introduced a new e-visa waiver for British and Irish nationals. This development happened on Thursday, August 3, wherein eligible nationals of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland can apply on Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs website. According to this development, the e-Visa waiver applies for single entry and also allows the nationals of these countries to visit the kingdom for six months.

When Can A Person Apply?

If you’re also wondering when can a person submit the application for this waiver, then you will be pleased to know that this can be done any time between 48 hours to 3 months before the travel date to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. As mentioned previously, this application form is available on the government’s website. So, with this initiative, more doors or now open for both British and Irish nationals to enter the country for a variety of reasons, which could be anything from education to tourism.

It should be noted that this development comes after recently the kingdom announced that Indian passport holders who have a visa with UK, US, and Schengen visa can easily apply for a Saudi e-visa. This was revealed by the President of the Saudi Tourism Authority in a report by the Times of India.
