While we hope to be travelling soon, what comes as a disappointment is that more and more countries are banning flights to and from India. Amid a surge in the COVID-19 cases, Saudi Arabia has banned flights to and from India. According to an official document, Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) said it suspended to and from travel of India, Brazil and Argentina. The ban also includes any person who has been in these countries in the last 14 days before their arrival in the Kingdom. Hong Kong has also banned Air India flights from October 3 after a few passengers on its flight tested positive for COVID-19 post-arrival.

Air India Express Carried COVID-19 Positive Passengers
A few days ago, the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority suspended Air India Express flights for 24 hours for carrying two passengers with COVID-positive certificates. While scheduled international passenger flights have been suspended in India since March, select international flights have been operating between India and Saudi Arabia under the Vande Bharat mission. India’s COVID-19 caseload has crossed 5 million, and the number of deaths has only been on the rise. After the one-day suspension, Air India Express resumed its Dubai flights on Saturday.
Passengers Flights Barred From Landing In Hing Kong
Air India passenger flights were also barred from landing in Hong Kong between in August after 14 passengers on its Delhi-Hong Kong flight tested positive for COVID-19 post-arrival. According to the guidelines issued by the Hong Kong government, Indian passengers could arrive in Hong Kong only if they provide a COVID-19 negative certificate done within 72 hours before the journey.
