The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia recently announced the launch of the new Package Visa initiative. And now, it has also announced the first seven countries that are eligible for the scheme. Yes, the scheme would allow travellers to obtain a tourist visa through a single integrated travel package. As a result, it would simplify the visitor journey as it would combine flights, accommodation and electronic visa service into a single booking process. So here is more you need to know about the development relating to the package visa.

Package Visa Initiative Announced For A Few Countries

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Tourism has announced the first seven countries that are eligible for the new Package Visa initiative. Yes, this service is currently available to travellers from India, Pakistan, Jordan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Egypt, and Mexico. Through the Package Visa, visitors will be able to arrange their flights, licensed hotel accommodation, and an electronic tourist visa. All of this will be through approved travel providers, and therefore it would eliminate the need to apply for a tourist visa separately.

More About The Package Visa

The electronic visa is issued within 48 hours of completing the purchase of the approved travel package. As the Saudi Gazette mentions, it removes the need to visit a Saudi Embassy or submit a standalone visa application. The travellers will also have to select an approved package through the authorised travel agency, receive their visa, travel insurance, and travel document by email, and complete payment digitally.

So far, the Ministry of Tourism has accredited providers to offer the service, and they are Reserval and Almosafer. The single-entry tourist visa is valid for three months. This means that travellers will be able to stay in the Kingdom for a minimum of two days and a maximum of 88 days.

Cost For Package Visa

Coming to the cost, the minimum cost for the package is SAR4,000 per adult for the first two days, and there is an additional SAR1,000 for each extra day. Travellers will also be able to add optional services, which can include event booking, tourism, experiences, and leisure activities.

It should, however, be noted that this visa initiative does not include Umrah arrangements or services in Mecca and Madinah. However, visa holders can travel anywhere in Saudi Arabia after they arrive, and it includes both holy cities. If the travel package is cancelled, the visa associated with it also gets revoked.

So, with the launch of this new visa initiative for a seamless tourism experience, it is bound to support Vision 2030, which aims to expand tourism access.
