Riyadh Air, often known as RIA, the nation’s co-flag carrier, was introduced. This was followed by a rather rational order for the 78 Boeing 787s. Out of 78, 39 787-9s would go to the new airline and the other half will go to Saudia, the current operator.

The two premium carriers with an emphasis on long-haul and attractive markets for travellers. Businesspeople will continue to be RIA and Saudia. Budget airlines like flynas, flyadeal, and Jazeera soon will focus on short-haul routes with dense populations, particularly those in the Middle East, South Asia, and portions of Europe.

The Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia, which oversees assets worth around $620 billion and supports key strategic industries for the country’s ambitions for economic diversification, will own all of Riyadh Air.
According to the Saudi Aviation Strategy, the number of locations will increase from 99 to 250 by 2030.

A new flag carrier will soon be soaring across the Saudi skies. This would result in a tripling of annual passenger traffic to 330 million.
