A new era in aviation has begun. Basically, they want to help Saudi Arabia achieve some huge goals called ‘giga projects’ as part of Vision 2030. SAUDIA is teaming up with Red Sea Global (RSG) and daa International to do this. This teamwork is not only making SAUDIA more important in Saudi Arabia but also more significant in the world of aircraft.

There’s a new airport called the Red Sea International Airport, and it’s getting ready to open this year. At first, it will have flights for people travelling within Saudi Arabia, like going to and from Riyadh and later, Jeddah. But in 2024, it’s going to have flights to other countries too. That’s a big step for the airport! As per Saudia’s statement to Arabian Business, it will be the very first airline to use the RSI airport and the first three Red Sea resorts when they start running later this year.

Going Green For The Future

Not only that, but they’re also looking at ways to make flying more eco-friendly. They want to use fuels that are better for the environment, like Lower-Carbon Aviation Fuel (LCAF) and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) at the Red Sea Airport. They’re even thinking about using special electric jets that take off and land vertically (eVTOL) to reduce pollution in the skies over the Red Sea.

This is a huge deal, not just for Red Sea Global but also for Saudi Arabia. It’s perfect that SAUDIA, which is the official airline of Saudi Arabia, is the first to fly to this exciting new place. SAUDIA’s work is going to bring more tourists and make Saudi Arabia even more important in the world of aeroplanes, thanks to Vision 2030.
