We have some good news for all the travel lovers! We might soon get seaplane facilities to Maharashtra’s Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR). Recently, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari proposed seaplane connectivity to TATR in a bid to make travel easier for tourists by improving connectivity in the region. Read on to know more about this.
Nitin Gadkari Proposes Seaplane Connectivity To Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve
During a recent rally in Maharashtra’s Ballarpur, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari proposed introducing seaplane transportation in the Chandrapur district. This is mainly to enhance connectivity to the Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve in the region and convenience for travellers.
According to Financial Express, Nitin Gadkari mentioned that TATR is a major tourist destination in the state and while constructing an airport nearby is not possible, due to environmental concerns, seaplane facilities would be an ideal option. He further shared that to improve connectivity, the authorities plan to construct a waterport at the Irai Dam in Chandrapur. From there, they can use 22-seater seaplanes to ferry tourists.
Nitin Gadkari further mentioned that if such water and air transportation facilities are developed near Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve, then people from Pune and Mumbai can directly reach Chandrapur and enhance tourism in the region.
TATR, A Major Tourist Attraction In The Region
According To Wikipedia, TATR is Maharashtra’s oldest and largest national park. Built in 1955, this reserve is home to more than 100 tigers and is quite popular among tourists and nature enthusiasts. One can take a jungle safari at the reserve and explore the dazzling biodiversity here. Or they can indulge in leisure activities like boating Irai backwaters, kayaking on Moharli Lake, or rappelling, zip-lining and zorbing at the Agarzari Adventure Camp. The place has something for everyone.
The suggestion to introduce seaplane facilities to Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve is quite amazing. This will enhance the connectivity to the region and will help promote tourism in the area. Share your two cents on this in the comments.
