Security Plans For NYE In Dubai Unveiled: 178 Ambulances Deployed, Fireworks & More Details Inside

Dubai Authorities have unveiled a security plan for the world-famous fireworks that takes place on the eve of New Year’s. And this year, it will be taking place at 32 locations and according to the Dubai Events Security Committee, the city has been divided into four sectors. Yes, this includes North, Central, West, and the maritime sector, which will help in managing the celebrations better. The Dubai Media Office recently revealed information about this and here’s all you need to know about the same.

Dubai Events Security Committee Reveals NYE Security Plans

Comprising 55 government and private entities, the Dubai Events Security Committee announced firework displays. These will be taking place across several locations in Dubai and Hatta, which includes popular landmarks. Yes, happening across 32 locations, these include Hatta, Global Village, Al Seef, Bluewaters, Burj Khalifa, and Festival City, to name a select few. Not to mention, several screens will also be put up where workers can watch the New Year celebration. This is being done in coordination with the Permanent Committee for Labour Affairs and equipped with six viewing screens and food services, the viewing areas are going to be a fun-filled affair.

12,000 Personnel Will Be Deployed

The Dubai Police revealed that around 12,000 personnel will be deployed around Downtown and other popular locations. Yes, these include 5,574 police officers and 1,525 patrol, civil defence, and ambulance vehicles. As such, several roads will begin closing at 4 PM onwards while the Sheikh Zayed Road, which will be closed from 9 PM onwards. Moreover, the Dubai Municipality will deploy 2,700 executive and field teams that will be spread across all the sites in the emirate.

242 supervisors, monitors, and 2281 sanitation workers will be maintaining cleanliness. So, together, they will be maintaining the cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of Dubai. As it happens, Dubai Municipality’s health and safety teams will also be carrying out field visits to ensure compliance with health and safety standards for public infrastructures, like pathways, elevators, escalators or even water systems.

178 ambulances will also be deployed by the Dubai Corporation for ambulance service. Four boats, 556 paramedics, and 35 supervisors will also be on standby for 46 events that will be happening across Dubai on New Year’s Eve.

So, with a comprehensive security plan in place, it’s bound to make people feel safer during the celebrations.
