Haryana’s Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Kanwar Pal flagged off a symbolic bus journey from Yamunanagar to Ayodhya on Monday, marking the commencement of the Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana. This initiative, introduced by the Haryana government, aims to provide free pilgrimage tours for senior citizens.
Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana
Announced by a government spokesperson, the Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana is designed to enable elderly residents aged 60 and above, with an annual family income not exceeding ₹1.8 lakh, to undertake spiritual journeys without financial constraints. The scheme’s primary objective is to support those who might otherwise be unable to afford such pilgrimages, thereby fostering inclusivity and ensuring cultural and religious enrichment for all eligible citizens.
Kanwar Pal’s participation in the inaugural journey underscores the government’s commitment to making religious travel accessible to Haryana’s elderly population. By facilitating free trips to revered destinations, the scheme aims to enhance the spiritual well-being of senior citizens, promoting a sense of cultural heritage and communal harmony.
Trips To Prominent Religious Sites Across India
The launch of this initiative represents a significant stride towards fulfilling the spiritual aspirations of elderly residents across the state. It reflects the government’s proactive approach in catering to the needs of its senior citizens through inclusive and welfare-oriented policies.
The Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana’s initial phase will focus on organising trips to prominent religious sites across India. These trips aim to provide diverse experiences for beneficiaries, fulfilling their long-held desires for pilgrimage. The scheme is expected to positively impact the lives of many elderly individuals.
Additionally, it aims to foster stronger community bonds among participants, promoting solidarity and mutual respect. This initiative aligns closely with broader objectives of social welfare and inclusivity within Haryana. It sets a precedent for other states to emulate in supporting their senior populations.
Looking ahead, the government plans to expand the scheme by including additional pilgrimage destinations and increasing the number of beneficiaries. This expansion will further amplify the scheme’s impact, extending its benefits to a greater number of deserving individuals.
