On Sunday, a fan club of King Khan shared an inside picture from the sets of Dunki. The picture shows Srk donning a messy look and a plaid shirt, on Waterloo Bridge in London. Well, Rajkumar Hirani is known for filming in beautiful locations! So it isn’t surprising to see him filming on the famous Waterloo Bridge for his upcoming directorial Dunki. But watching it in reel does no justice to the greatness of the bridge. So here’s why the famous bridge is a must-visit in London!
The Great Waterloo Bridge In London And Reasons To Visit It
The first Waterloo Bridge was opened during the second anniversary of the battle of Waterloo. The opening was done by the Prince Regent accompanied, fittingly, by the Duke of Wellington, on 18 June 1817. The bridge is a road and foot traffic bridge crossing the River Thames in London. It sits beautifully between Blackfriars, Hungerford, and Golden Jubilee Bridges in the city. For any tourist visiting London, Waterloo Bridge is a must-visit site as it’s a part of the city’s history. The bridge commemorates the victory of the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. The bridge also features splendid vistas of the South Bank and the London Eye. You can enjoy views of Westminster and Canary Wharf from the bridge. An absolute travel delight must say!
Dunki Is Not The First Bollywood Movie To Be Shot In The Famous London Bridge
The upcoming film of Shahrukh Khan isn’t the first one to be shot in the great Waterloo Bridge. Waterloo is a famous filming location and movies like Jab Tak Hain Jaan and Namaste London featured shots of the bridge. “The Great Game”, an episode of the tv series Sherlock, was shot on the bridge’s northern side. In the recent viral picture of Shahrukh, you can see the actor surrounded by crew members on the bridge. Well, it would be interesting to see how Rajkumar Hirani unfolds the story of Dunki on the bridge. The movie is slated to hit the theaters on December 22, 2023.
