In a reel posted on Instagram, Shamita Shetty gives a glimpse of her delicious Bengali thali which she relished in Siliguri. The actress explored the beautiful hill station nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas, one bite at a time. Calling local authenticity, the truest passport to flavour, the actress complimented the chef, Hasibur. She also thanked Ashis Biswa and Sourav for organising an authentic plate of Bengali food for her.
The foodie from B-Town expressed in the reel that she really wanted to try the traditional food in Siliguri. And her mouth was watering as she sat in front of the elaborate spread laid out in front of her. Shamita Shetty relished the traditional buttermilk drink, ghol. For appetisers, she tucked into Mochar Chop, a fried raw banana flower cutlet which is to be paired with kasundi, a mustard condiment. She also enjoyed jhuri aloo bhaja, a fried potato snack and baingan bhaja which celebrates brinjal.
Netizens School Her For Calling Nolen Gur Rosogolla As Gulab Jamun & Mispronouncing Other Dishes
Shamita Shetty’s Bengali platter also included the signature Mutton Kosha, rice and papad. For dessert, the actress showed her followers bowls of Mishti Doi and Noren Gur Rosogolla, which she wrongly calls “Gulab Jamun”. But Netizens were quick to point out her mistake. @theycallme.tony comments that it’s Noren Gur Rosogolla and not gulab Jamun. He also schools her for mispronouncing Jhuri Aloo Bhaja. @sagarika__11__ comments that she relished Banana Flower Chop and not Banana Chop. To this, Shamita Shetty comments, “Mistake ho gaya na”.
Her brother-in-law Raj Kundra cheekily comments, “Ghar pe kabhi mutton kathey nahi! Aur yaha thali pe mutton hi mutton!”
