On our latest episode of Tere Gully Mein, we explored Namma Kudla AKA Mangalore with none other than finance influencer Sharan Hegde. From inviting us to his beautiful home to introducing us to Pabbas’s iconic Tiramisu sundae, we had a gala time with Sharan. Also, we didn’t let him go without playing a game of ‘Splurge, Invest and Save’ with us!
Sharan Hegde Plays ‘Splurge, Invest & Save’ With Us
Mangalorean Sharan Hegde gave us helpful finance tips and also took us around the streets of Mangalore, Karnataka’s beloved coastal destination. During the fun chat, we played a game with Sharan who sportingly revealed his lifestyle habits. We gave him a few options and he had to reveal whether he’d invest, save or splurge.
When it comes to luxury brands, Sharan finds them a waste of money. So, he would rather save his money. Like many of us, Sharan prefers to splurge on vacations. When it comes to gadgets, he likes to invest in them. Here’s where we threw a googly at him! Coldplay concert tickets. What do you think Sharan Hegde would do? He’d invest in them, of course it depends if they are first-hand tickets.

He Says, “Gold Jewellery Is A Waste Of Money”
Both year-end sales and dates are instances when he would invest his money. Like vacations, Sharan prefers to splurge on his birthday. Surprisingly, the finance influencer would rather save his money than spend it on gold, taking us by surprise. From an investment point of view, Sharan finds gold jewellery to be a waste of money. He said, “The value dips as soon as you walk out of the store.” He said he would rather invest in gold mutual funds and gold biscuits.
During our chat with Sharan, we dined at his favourite Pallkhi Restaurant in Hampankatta where he introduced us to Kori Roti, Neer Dosa and Pomfret Tawa Fry, delicacies from Mangalore.
