Sharjah Announces New Covid-19 Restrictions On Restaurants, Malls And Gyms

Sharjah Economic Department has announced new rules in Sharjah amid the rise in the covid-19 cases in the UAE. The new restrictions have been announced on restaurants, cinemas, malls, fitness centres and gyms. The new rules were announced on February 9. Here’s everything you must know about it.

Sharjah Announced New Restrictions On Government’s Instagram Account

The new rules were announced on the government’s official Instagram account. Cinema lovers must know that the capacity at cinemas is now reduced to 50 per cent. All cinemas must have a safe distance of two metres between each visitors. People visiting cinemas and other entertainment centres must wear masks, adhere to other precautionary measures all the time.

Malls And Shopping Centres

For malls and shopping centres, the capacity must not exceed 60 per cent. It is furthermore necessary to maintain a safe distance of two metres between each visitors. Masks and other precautionary measures must be followed.

Restaurants

When it comes to restaurants, no more than four individuals are allowed to sit at a table with the exception of members of the same family. Restaurants must also make sure that the distance of two metres is left between each table.

Gyms And Fitness Centres

Gyms and other fitness centres too are required to follow all the necessary measures. The capacity at gyms cannot exceed 50 per cent, and wearing a mask is mandatory too.

Abu Dhabi And Dubai Have Also Updated The Rules

Well, not only Sharjah, but Abu Dhabi and Dubai have also updated their covid-19 rules for the citizens. Abu Dhabi has shut cinemas for a brief period, whereas Dubai has cancelled weekend brunches for a while. Not more 10-guests are allowed to attend the wedding in both- Abu Dhabi and Dubai, whereas, only 20 people are allowed at the funerals.

All these rules and restrictions are in place to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus.
