Shefali Shah, a Bollywood actress, recently posted about an incredible experience that impressed everyone who saw it. She travelled to see one of nature’s most amazing phenomena, the Northern Lights, and posted several pictures of herself fully absorbed in the experience on Instagram.
Shefali Shah On Witnessing The Northern Lights In Finland

In her post, Shefali tried to convey what it was like to stand under the sparkling skies of Saariselka, Finland, and watch the Aurora Borealis dance across the night. She wrote, “Thought I’ll try and explain what it is to actually see the Northern Lights. But there are no words to describe the Aurora Borealis.
Like most of us, she often resorts to learning about such things – the science, the facts, the logic. But this time, she let herself soak in the magic, standing there in silence with tears in her eyes, completely giving in to the present while feeling grateful, humbled, and blessed. The Northern Lights served as a reminder of something much greater than herself, a mystical force.
She even shared a poetic thought: “I’d like to be like the Aurora Borealis, visible clearly when seen through a camera and otherwise elusive.” Shefali mentioned seeing the lights briefly in Tromso, Norway, but it was in Finland that she experienced the full, mesmerising show. And yes, she laughed, she cried, she felt cold and frozen, but above all, she felt humble and awed.

The Chaos Before The Magic
This story is even more relatable because of the events that came before it. Shefali had recently discussed the stressful start to this family vacation. It’s a kind of travel anxiety that most of us are all too familiar with. Even before the trip began, there were disagreements, delays in leaving the house, and a traffic jam that nearly kept them from making the flight. Shefali reminded us that the best experiences usually follow the most difficult beginnings.
Then the Northern Lights appeared. All the travel chaos, cold, and minor frustrations vanished the moment she saw the dancing green and purple lights across the Arctic sky. Shefali Shah shows us more than just a breathtaking view in her Instagram post. She tells a tale of patience, anticipation, the breathtaking beauty of nature, and how life can surprise us with moments of pure magic even in the midst of everyday struggles.
