It’s no secret that His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Ruler of Dubai likes to visit places for inspection purposes. And keeping true to this purpose, he was recently seen visiting the Emirates Engineering Centre and Terminal 2 of the Dubai International Airport. He was also accompanied by Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the first Deputy Euler of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the UAE, and Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the President of Dubai, Civil Aviation Authority and the Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airlines & Group.

Sheikh Mohammed Visits The Emirates Engineering Centre

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Ruler of Dubai, Prime Minister and Vice President of the UAE took a tour of the Emirates Engineering Centre and the Terminal 2 of the Dubai International Airport. During his visit to the engineering centre, he along with his entourage was seen reviewing the 40,000 square meter facility that features 12 fully air-conditioned hangers, forming the largest free-spanned structures in the Middle East. According to his website, he reviewed several aspects of the airline’s ongoing cabin refurbishment program.

In this, the interiors of the A380 have been entirely stripped and are being prepped for a cabin makeover to make a newly refurbished aircraft that would boast the latest premium economy product and cabin interiors. Moreover, he also visited the state-of-the-art cabin workshop and saw a demonstration of how the aircraft safety slides are deployed and tested. At this point, it should be noted that over two years, the programme will upgrade the cabin interiors of 120 aircraft. Not to mention, each aircraft takes about 21 days with over 1000 man hours per day. Did you know this is the largest known cable retrofit program in aviation to date?

He Also Visited The Terminal 2 Of Dubai International Airport

As it happens, Sheikh Mohammed also visited Terminal 2 of the Dubai International Airport. During his visit, he appreciated the airport’s rapid development under the leadership of Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum. He commended the airport for its growth into a major global aviation hub over the years and its ranking as the world’s busiest airport for many consecutive years. It should be noted that this is also the operational base of flydubai and the airport offers services to 18 other airlines as well. During his tour of the airport, he was also briefed about the operation facility at the airport which includes the process of expediting passenger procedures and its preparedness to handle increased travel movement during the summer holiday.

This development comes after recently Sheikh Mohammed was spotted cycling at the Dubai Canal and he visited the SeaWorld in Abu Dhabi.
