Fire Reported At The Port Of Oakland On Sunday
X user Eric Widera, MD (@EWidera) posted a picture of the horrifying smoke and fumes being visible from the Giants Game.
The incident was so intense that the black smoke was visible all over San Fransisco Bay on May 12. People could clearly see it across the waters as well. The concern arose when people saw the plumes from Marin and San Francisco last afternoon. In fact, it was clearly noticeable for the attendees at the Giants Game.
UKR_v_RUS_stuff (@Stuff_UKR) took to the X platform to share a glimpse of the facility catching fire and smoke surrounding it all around.
There are no confirmed updates about the exact reason behind the fire at the facility and when it broke out on Sunday. The staff of the Oakland Fire Department stated that the incident at the shipping container might have happened because of a lithium battery, according to a report by The San Francisco Standard. A spokesperson of the port of Oakland named Robert Bernard shared that the team was able to bring it under control by 3:45 PM.

No one has officially stated the reason behind the terrifying incident reported yesterday afternoon. A spokesperson of the fire department shared with the Mercury News how a small fire was the reason behind the horrible and massive spread of fumes. The fire ignited as some batteries caught fire and then spread all around the lithium facility.
