It has been some time since several parts of Uttarakhand have been witnessing harsh wildfires. With every passing day, the intensity of the fire continues to grapple forests. Unfortunately, we are coming across more news of people losing their lives because of this ongoing disastrous condition in the state’s forest ranges. Read on to know the important information about this horrible phenomenon.

At Least 5 People Died

Taking to X, Ritika J Chandola (@RitikaChandola) shared a glimpse of the raging wildfire.

The concerned departments are working relentlessly to bring the terrifying situation under control. However, the disaster has spread all around so much that it is now injuring people and killing lives. According to a report by News9Live, about 5 people have lost their lives in the last 3 days because of this disaster. It was just recently when the latest report stated that a 28-year-old woman died in the Almora district.

Identified as Puja, she suffered the injuries about 3 days ago, according to a report by The Times of India. She was attempting to extinguish a fire close to a factory when she got hurt severely and later lost her life because of burn injuries. Sadly, her husband also died in this traumatising incident.

The Uttarakhand forest fire has taken away the lives of a 65-year-old woman and 2 other people as well. So far, there have been updates about 5 people passing away because of the disaster.

24 Forest Fires Have Been Witnessed In Uttarakhand

Sarwesh Tiwari (@Sarweshtiw) took to the X platform to share a picture of the scary forest fire rushing all around.

Dehradun Forest Department stated about 24 forest fires reported in the past 24 hours in their latest bulletin. These recent fires have already caused damage to about 23.75 hectares of forest area. According to the weather reports in this area, rainfall is likely to begin on May 7. It is expected that the weather will change from Tuesday in the Kumaon region. Also, the Garhwal region may experience rainfall from May 8.
