Shocking! Woman Lights Up A Cigarette On Plane, Attempts To Set Seat On Fire, Video Sparks Outrage

Woman smokes on Flight

There was a shocking incident on an Istanbul-Cyprus flight when a woman openly smoked on board, violating strict aviation safety rules. The woman, who was dressed in a blue burqa and sunglasses, simply lit a cigarette and ignored the no-smoking policy. The reckless act caused panic among the crew members and passengers and led to an immediate response.

Woman Smokes On Flight, Triggers Outrage

In a viral video, a blue burqa and sunglasses-clad woman is spotted sitting by the window and lighting a cigarette casually and entirely ignoring the no-smoking rule. The growing cloud of smoke leaves the cabin crew and fellow passengers worried. The video, which was first seen in 2019, is now resurfacing, again sparking discussions on air safety and passenger conduct.

The flight attendants swiftly intervened and tried to confiscate the lighter from the woman. But instead of obeying, she resisted and took the situation to new heights by trying to ignite the seat cover. The crew responded fast, throwing water at the lighter and averting what would have been a huge catastrophe in mid-air.

Most social media users have criticised the rash act as a ‘serious security lapse’. Others have questioned how she was able to take a lighter aboard with her despite rigorous airport security screening.

Aviation experts have pointed out that such a step could have extreme consequences, as even the slightest fire inside a pressurised cabin is a dangerous risk of fire. Most have commended the crew for acting so quickly to protect passengers.

Smoking in flight is prohibited because of the high fire hazard in a confined environment. Opening burning fuses, smoking, or having open flames within an aeroplane can lead to heavy penalties, arrests, or even lifetime bans from flying.

This revived incident is a grim reminder of the need to follow flight safety guidelines. As people on social media continue to vent their anger, many are demanding tighter checks and swift action against such irresponsible behaviour.
