On April 11, a Swiggy user Rohit Arora, shared CCTV footage on X (formerly Twitter) of a Swiggy Instamart delivery boy who stole his friend’s Nike shoes. Arora stated the food delivery aggregator refused to share the delivery executive’s contact number to trace the shoes. Since then, the post went with Netizens prompting strict action from Swiggy. On Friday, actor Sonu Sood tweeted that no action be taken against the delivery man as “he might be really in need.” Netizens slammed his response.

Actor Sonu Sood took to X to state his opinion on the incident. He stated if the delivery man stole a pair of shoes while delivering food at someone’s home, then no action must be taken against the person. Furthermore, he mentions, that a new pair of shoes must be bought for the person. “He might really be in need. Be kind,” said Sonu.
In no time, the Happy New Year actor’s post went viral garnering over 940.1K views and over 2k comments. Many expressed disappointment with the actor’s post in the comments section. One Netizen wrote that being poor doesn’t give anyone the license to steal.

Netizens Expressed Disappointment & Slammed Him For Defending Stealing
@theskindoctor13 writes that while asking for no action is still okay, stealing should not be justified with nonsensical arguments. He cited the example of millions of poor and poorer people who work tirelessly to earn a livelihood without stealing. So, justifying stealing is an insult to their hustle.

Another Netizen joked that perhaps team RCB needed to steal the IPL trophy.
