Recently, a big development was announced by the Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, who is a Member of the Supreme Council as well. Yes, he announced a new mountain tourist road project, which will lead all the way to Khorfakkan. So, with the project complete soon, you will be able to drive from Sharjah to Khofakkan.
A New Road From Sharjah To Khorfakkan
As mentioned recently in a report by Khaleej Times, Sharjah will soon get a new road that will lead all the way to Khorfakkan. As revealed on July 17, this has been described by the Ruler of Sharjah as “a wonder never seen before”. This upcoming road will wind over the mountain peaks, and so, talking about the starting point, it will begin from Al Ghuzair Tunnel. After this, it will reach the highest mountain peak in Khorfakkan, which is situated at an elevation of 1,100 m above sea level.

With an abundance of natural beauty surrounding the road, the scenery for the vehicles passing by on this route will include trees, plantations, beautiful residences, and water channels. As a result, it’s bound to transform their journey between the two destinations into one delightful tourist experience. As it happens, this road will be converted from a highway into an enjoyable tourist route.

Project Announced In Kalba
As it happens, the Ruler of Sharjah also promised the residents of Kalba bout the opening of projects in Jabal Deem. This included rest areas, playgrounds, and farms! Moreover, it is expected that this may open in March 2026. Additionally, the Ruler of Sharjah also announced that 190 residential plots, a main park, and a mosque were also built in the suburbs of Kalba, Al Dahiyat.
The first phase begins with the construction of 54 residential units!
