South Delhi Parks To Start Yoga Classes Soon With Professional Teachers

Delhiites! You can soon visit South Delhi parks and opt for relaxing meditation and yoga classes. And don’t worry about not knowing yoga, trained instructors will guide you in your endeavours. The South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) will soon hire yoga instructors from the end of March as part of its project to start yoga classes in parks managed by the civic body. Do be prepared to pay a nominal fee to participate in these yoga classes. There’s nothing like peaceful yoga amid the lush greenery of these parks.

Yoga Classes To Take Place In South Delhi Parks

South Delhi parks will welcome yoga enthusiasts and learners yearning to do yoga in the bliss of nature. The south civic body presented the yoga class project in its budget before the standing committee in January. The yoga classes will be held by trained professionals appointed by the civic body at a nominal fee for participants. This nominal fee shall go into increasing SDMC’s revenue.

Professional Yoga Teachers Will Take Classes For Nominal Rates

Narendra Chawla the south corporation leader stated to Hindustan Times, “The proposal has already been passed and now we are planning to implement it as soon as possible. We plan to start appointing yoga professionals at parks from the end of the next month (March) to teach people about right postures and asanas. We are in touch with some NGOs and organisations who deal in this sector to hire yoga professionals. We will hire instructors on a contractual basis.” While participants have to pay fees, Chawla assures it will be a nominal amount.

SDMC officials inform that the civic body handles around 6400 big and small parks in its own jurisdiction. Apart from introducing yoga in its parks, North Delhi Municipal Corporation shall also start yoga for classes for students at schools. This move will improve the fitness and immunity of its students.
