Trip.PASS App: What It Is & How It Helps Tourists?
Travellers visiting South Korea no longer have to bother carrying along their passports and credit cards when exploring the nation. Visitors can enjoy seamless connectivity on public transport and make electronic purchases at numerous shops by connecting their debit cards to the Trip.PASS app.
The app will have additional features in the future and is currently accessible at CU convenience stores and specific retailers. Travellers will be able to pay and get tax refunds in Hyundai department stores, GS25 convenience stores, and Shinsegae duty-free shops by the middle of 2024.
By doing away with the requirement for specialised payment terminals or passport readers, this project is anticipated to assist small merchants and store owners in Seoul. Shop owners are required to scan QR codes for purchases or tax refunds in order to expedite transactions through the Trip.PASS app.
For Android users, the latest version of the app is presently available on the Google Play Store. It will be available for iPhone users before the end of January 2024.
