You know when you’re travelling by train or bus and sometimes fear you might have taken the wrong bus? Now, what if we tell you it happened to a woman, but with her flight? Yes, a Delhi-Srinagar-bound woman ended up in Pune after a mix-up with her Spicejet flight. Here’s what happened.
Srinagar Bound Woman Boards Pune Bound SpiceJet Flight
On July 31 morning, a woman passenger who booked a SpiceJet Delhi-Srinagar flight ended up in Pune. The mix-up occurred because Wasif Jan mistakenly boarded a Pune-bound SpiceJet flight And neither the airline nor the passenger noticed until they landed in Pune.
As per the sources in Times Of India’s reports, Wasifa was then flown back to Delhi on an IndiGo flight. And, from there she will be taken to Srinagar on a Spicejet flight.
As per the reports, A spokesperson for SpiceJet apologised for the mix-up and said they personally reached out to the passenger to offer any help and apologies. They also claimed to have arranged a travel route for her to Srinagar on July 31 itself.

Wasifa Jan’s Travel agent, even took to Twitter to address the matter and call out the airlines for the same. Tagging the DCGA, he said in his tweet how his client had booked tickets to land in Srinagar from Delhi, but ended up in Pune instead. He claimed that she had been “put” on the wrong flight by Spicejet airline.
While of course, the airline should’ve done a better job of checking the traveller’s boarding pass, can they be blamed entirely? Well, we leave it up to you to decide. But, this isn’t the first time an incident like this has occurred.
Afsar Hussain, the passenger, had a ticket booked for Patna from Delhi through IndiGo flight 6E-214 on Jan 30 2023. However, he accidentally boarded flight 6E-319 to Udaipur, reported Jammu Links News. The mix-up occurred when he mistakenly took the wrong airport shuttle bus, leading him to the Udaipur-bound flight.
Reports also stated that the DCGA wanted to investigate the matter. They wanted to determine why the airline did not thoroughly scan the passenger’s boarding pass. This is despite the existing rule that mandates checks at two points before final boarding.
