Jaipur Airport’s recently revamped Terminal 1 is set to welcome travellers with a new look and enhanced functionality. This marks a significant shift for Rajasthan’s bustling aviation hub. Scheduled to commence operations by midnight on October 27, the terminal is dedicated exclusively to international flights. Terminal 2 is now reserved for domestic travel.
Jaipur’s Terminal 1 For International Passengers
Jaipur Airport, situated in the Sanganer area and ranked as India’s 13th busiest in terms of scheduled daily flights. Terminal 1 at Jaipur Airport is prepared for its official reopening. On October 27, Terminal 1, which is used for international flights, will be completely operational. The renovated terminal seeks to improve the travel experiences of both domestic and foreign travellers. Jaipur Airport will now have two terminals as a result. Terminal 2, which used to handle both domestic and foreign traffic, will only handle domestic flights as of Sunday.
15 lakh passengers can now be accommodated annually at the refurbished Terminal 1. There are about ten immigration counters in the departure section and fourteen in the arrival area. According to News18, over 100 security guards, including CISF and airport security, would be stationed at the terminal. Other facilities at the refurbished terminal include passenger lounges, a medical facility, and 24-hour ambulance service. Rajasthan tourism is predicted to increase as a result of the anticipated new international links to Abu Dhabi and Kuala Lumpur. As the first flight into the newly designated Terminal 1, an Etihad Airways service from Abu Dhabi landed at 2:10 am on October 27, marking the beginning of this international gateway’s full functionality.
The conclusion of the renovations to Terminal 1, which started in December 2017, demonstrates a strong commitment to enhancing Jaipur Airport’s passenger amenities and services. This improvement aims to boost the expansion of Rajasthan’s tourist sector in addition to providing improved travel experiences.
