Netflix recently came out with a new TV series adaptation of author David Nicholls’ One Day with 14 episodes. It follows the storyline of Emma Morley and Dexter Mayhew’s relationship, played by Ambika Mod and Leo Woodall, over the span of 20 years. If you are unaware, Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess did it way before, in a 2011 movie by the same name. Watch it at your own risk. Only if your heart can handle all of this again! It is safe to say that while watching Netflix’s One Day, bubbly smiles have been plastered on the audience’s faces yet hearts have been broken and tears have been being shed. But those gorgeous filming locations were hard not to miss! Let’s check them out.

6 Dreamy Filming Locations Of Netflix’s One Day 

1. Edinburgh, Scotland

Edinburgh is where this beautiful yet heartbreaking story begins and ends. In the first episode, Emma and Dexter’s romantic kissing scene is captured at The Vennel Steps as Dexter asks her to keep in touch before going their separate ways during university days. Some scenes were also filmed at Edinburgh University, Edinburgh Castle and Arthur’s Seat; you may visit it and maybe recreate scenes with your loved one! 

2. Rome, Italy

Lesser-known portions of Rome were filmed for One Day. In episode two, when Emma was touring England with her drama group, Dexter was in Rome teaching English. This is when his parents came to see him and the locations shown are Bio Hotel Raphaël and Campo de’ Fiori. He strolls near Trastevere quarter, before meeting his mom. You better jot it down for this summer Rome itinerary!

3. Primrose Hill, London

Whenever you think about Primrose Hill, you are immediately plastered with images of Victorian houses, some of them pastel-coloured and the breathtaking skyline view of London. It is just like that in episode three of Netflix’s One Day! Here, they enjoy some wine in paper cups and have deeper conversations about life.

4. Paros, Greece

For the fourth episode, the cast of One Day flew over to Greece because the storyline demanded a friend holiday in Paros. It is one of the most picturesque islands to have a nice vacation on. They filmed at the harbour at Nousa and Parikia, the island’s capital. This summer, skip the usual Santorini and make your way to Paros with your Emma or Dexter in real life.

5. Hertfordshire, England

In episode nine, Dexter meets Sylvie’s family and her beautiful house was filmed on a Georgian manor in Benington Lordship. Episode 10 focused on Tilly’s wedding reception and it was filmed at the fabulous Hatfield House, also making incredible usage of its popular maze. Emma even strolled at Lime Walk in West Garden here.

6. Paris, France

Netflix’s One Day is a romantic drama series, so how could they not film it in Paris, the city of love? In the 12th episode, Dexter finally unites with Emma in Paris. Some of the locations they covered here are Rue Pierre Semard, Passerelle Emmanuelle Riva and Rue des Gobelins. Again, some of the most heartfelt conversations were held here.
