Gaurav Gera Wanted To Retire At 45; Was Almost Ready To Move Back Home Before Dhurandhar

In this episode, our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, met actor Gaurav Gera, who became quite famous for his outstanding portrayal in Dhurandhar 2. While talking about life and movies, Gaurav Gera opened up about his time when he wished to quit acting. Read on to know more about their conversation.

Gaurav Gera On Quitting Acting

When Kamiya was asked if there was ever a time he considered quitting acting. To which Gaurav said, “Not then, but very recently before Dhurandhar. I thought I had done enough on various platforms. Internet pe bhi kar liya, TV bhi kar liya. So I was feeling, I have done quite a lot.” He further stated that when he was 30, he had a vision that he wanted to retire at 45. “I want to enjoy my life, cook at my own pace, and grow plants. I want to travel, which I don’t do that frequently, but it was my vision,” he said. He also stated that he is now 50 and that his Chutki Shopkeeper character was kind of a retirement for him, as it provided him with money and preferred work hours, allowing him to work on his own terms. “So back then, TV and movies used to make no sense to me; it is not comparable, as the internet paid more.” But he also said how Dhurandhar worked out well for him; somewhere in between, it worked out well. And I really like to enjoy working at a slow pace.”

Gaurav Gera On Dhurandhar Success

Kamiya further asked Gaurav about Dhurandhar and whether he felt that it had been the best part of his career so far. To which Gaurav said it is definitely the biggest one so far, and just how he wanted it. He also stated, “There have been highs in my life. Jassi Jaisa Koi Nahi changed things for me. Then, Chutki Shopkeeper changed things for me. A different platform, but films are another, I feel, another platform.”
