Sunil Chhetri Says, “Minus The Traffic, I Like Everything About Bangalore”; Bangaloreans Agree

Sunil Chhetri

For this exciting episode of the Sunday Brunch, Curly Tales had to fly out to Bangalore to have a hearty chat with the one and only, Sunil Chhetri, the Indian Football Captain. He is the third-highest football goal scorer in the world, after the great Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. When our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, asked him about the city of Bangalore, he straightforwardly said that he adores everything about it but not the traffic. He hit the bull’s eye with this answer! Watch the whole video to learn more about Sunil and his life.

Sunil Chhetri Had A Typical Review About Bangalore & Everyone Agreed

If you have ever been to Bangalore, you know from the plethora of memes that are floating around the internet that it has terrible traffic. Mostly, Bangaloreans are boastful about the pristine weather which only serves them as a relief when they are stuck in traffic for hours.

In the video, Kamiya asked Sunil Chhetri, “How many years has it been in the city (Bangalore) for you?” In response, he said that he was in his eleventh year of living in Bangalore and, although he never imagined that he would stay for more than ten years, he was content here. Then, we obviously asked him the typical question of what he likes about Bangalore. Sunil Chhetri said, “Minus the traffic, I like everything about Bangalore.” We are 100% sure Bangaloreans are nodding their heads, but Kamiya laughed out loud when he heard it.

This city is the IT capital of India and with time it has become a massive hub for engineers who are professionals during the day and are raging party animals during the night. At the end of the day, the good things about Bangalore come down to weather and booze. Would that be enough for you to shift to Namma Bangalore?

Still, This City Is His Home Now

Sunil Chhetri told us that he witnessed the growth in Bangalore’s traffic in the decade he has spent there and it has only gotten worse. He was sweet enough to say sorry to Bangaloreans about mentioning the aspect of traffic. He makes it up by saying, “Apart from that, the city is golden.” But we get it Sunil, we agree with you as we were also stuck in traffic before coming to meet you.

Bangaloreans wait there is more! He went on to praise the city overall and that it has now become a home for him. The vibes, his football clubs, and the fans, all these things about the city make him like it. He went on to say a very cheesy line that will melt your heart and make you forget about the traffic, “You know jab aap airport par utarte ho and you feel like ‘haan ghar aa gaya’, woh Bangalore mein hai.” (Bangalore gives him the warm feeling that one gets on returning home when one lands at the airport.)
