The exhibition titled ‘Rendezvous in Paris: Picasso, Chagall, Modigliani & Co.” will bring more than 80 works of art by the whose who of ‘School of Paris’ like Pablo Picasso, Chaïm Soutine, Marc Chagall, Tamara de Lempicka, Juan Gris and Constantin Brancusi. And, the exhibition is set to be brought by Louvre Abu Dhabi, Centre Pompidou and Agence-France Museums for the last quarter of 2019.
From paintings, sculptures to photographs, 50 migrant artistes will showcase their works of the early 20th century France. So, the exhibition looks to trace their creative journeys in the unique sociopolitical climate of a liberal France and allow the visitors to get a glimpse of this golden artistic era of the century.
The Cultural programmes will have multitude of artists showcasing their works inspired from the School of Paris. From Cubist artists works inspired by Picasso to Streb’s Revolution and Rock performances. Additionally, there are set to be cultural presentations we are looking forward to. These include film screenings by Hind Mezaina and an electro night thanks to UAE’s DJs like Hassan Alwan and Tristan Girault.
Louvre Abu Dhabi is going to welcome a stylish Parisian restaurant in 2020. Legendary French chef Pierre Gagnaire will be bringing in the menu at Fouquet’s new brasserie. The Parisian brasserie recently celebrated its 120th birthday and it’s chef Gagnaire has already had some credible works in Dubai to his name. So we know there is a lot to be excited for! Wondering where else you have tasted his food? His culinary works include Reflets at Dubai Festival City and Pierre’s Bistro & Bar.
The coming months at Louvre Abu Dhabi has got us all excited with all the interesting things coming up and we are sure you are excited too!
