Tamil Nadu’s Trichy or Tiruchirapalli will soon get two metro corridors. Two corridors with a combined length of 45 km were suggested in the detailed feasibility report (DFR) for Trichy’s introduction of a mass rapid transit system (MRTS). One corridor would link the city’s northern and western suburbs, and the other would link the city’s eastern and southern suburbs.
Tamil Nadu’s Trichy Is Getting 2 New Metro Corridors
According to The Times of India, the Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) finished the DFR. It aid corridor 1 will span 19 kilometers between Samayapuram and Vayalur and have 19 stations. With 26 stops, Corridor 2 is planned to run for 26 kilometers between Thuvakudi and Panjapur.
The overall number of stations for each route will be decided upon during further research at the detailed project report (DPR) stage. A viable MRTS model will be discussed and chosen by the state and federal governments.

Metro Lite Or Metro Neo Too Might Follow
In the following phases, such as Metro Lite or Metro Neo might also be introduced. The countries will also talk about approving funds for the plan based on the DPR that will be created. Clarity on the status of the two elevated routes put on hold for the metro project is anticipated to come with the completion of DFR.
It should be noted that both of the pathways stated in the DFR correspond with the high-demand corridors. These are recommended by the corporation based on a thorough mobility plan created by a consultant based in Bengaluru.
Samayapuram to Vayalur (18.7 km), Thuvakudi to Panjapur via Central Bus Stand (26 km), and Railway Junction to Panjapur via airport and Ring Road (23.3 km). These were the three corridors that the corporation had suggested for Trichy. (As per The Times of India)
