Love food, music and all things that go with it? Well, then this is something you’re going to love! ‘The Taste of Abu Dhabi’- a massive food festival is coming to Abu Dhabi next month. The mega mela is happening from the 7- 9 November 2019 at Abu Dhabi’s du Arena. For the first time ever, the event will host not one but two international headline music acts as well as a Big Baking Tent Bake Off. Foodies can also binge at the city’s hottest restaurants, interact with international celebrity chefs and enjoy three-days of non-stop entertainment and music.
Here’s a list of all that you can expect at Abu Dhabi’s grand food fest!
The Music Line Up
Four-time Grammy Award nominee UB40 will kick-start the festival on Thursday 7 November performing chartbusters from their latest album ‘For the Many’. The line up also includes UB40 classics ‘Food For Thought’, ‘One In Ten’, ‘I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You’, ‘Sing Our Own Song’ and ‘Red, Red Wine’.
Boyzlife duo Keith Duffy and Brian McFadden, will take stage on 8 November, performing hits from Westlife and Boyzone. Guests can expect ‘Flying Without Wings’, ‘No Matter What’, ‘I Love The Way You Love Me’, ‘Swear It Again’, ‘Love Me For A Reason’, and ‘Baby Can I Hold You’. There will also be live music every day from local artists and bands including 4TheMusic, Yeah Yeah Nah, DJ Sheps amongst others.
Food Sampling Pavilion
Foodies can sample international delicacies at the International Food Sampling Pavilion. The sections also offers the best organic and fresh produce in the Middle East including honey, dates, juices, Arabic sweets, biscuits and coffee to taste at the pop-up stalls.
The Beverage Theatre
For the first time ever, Taste of Abu Dhabi will also have a bespoke beverage tasting experience theatre that will showcase mixologist masterclasses. Expand your knowledge whilst sampling a range of hops, grapes and mocktails.
Participate In A Cooking Challenge
Challenge your cooking skills at the Al Ain Farms & Kibsons Cooking Challenge and win prizes as you cook alongside celebrity chefs from across the world.
The Big Baking Tent
Master Pâtissier Eric Lanlard returns to Taste of Abu Dhabi with baking masterclasses at the Big Baking Tent by ICCA. The theme for this year is -‘Bring Back the 80’s’. In order to participate in the competition and showcase your creation, simply submit a detailed description of the cake you would like to create along with a picture/sketch. If your submission is shortlisted, you could be facing the judges soon. Budding bakers can also take home tips and tricks from local and international pastry experts.
Crate & Barrel Chefs’ Theatre
Watch and learn new techniques, recipes and tricks from world-class chefs as they reveal their best-kept culinary secrets. Guests can expect talented chefs like including Jean Christophe Novelli, John Torode, Annabel Karmel and Kunal Kapur.
Kid’s Zone
There event also a little something for kids as well. There will be a dedicated Kids’ Zone to keep the little ones entertained including everything from arts and crafts, to inflatables, face painting, and much more. Kids will also be able to work off some energy with free trampolining with BOUNCE Inc. Entry is free for kids aged 12 and under.
