Dubai Airport Announces 75% Discount On Taxis For Passengers

Passengers landing at Al Maktoum international airport instead of DXB, between 16 April to 30 May, will enjoy a 75% drop in taxi fare.

Dubai Taxi Corporation has announced a drop in taxi rates for all passengers landing at Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC). Taxi rates will reduce by 75% for travelers landing at Maktoum airport from 16 April to 30 May. 

The initiative comes just in time with the closure of DXB’s southern runway. In case you didn’t know, DXB’s southern runway will be closed for renovation for 45 days. During this time, the city’s Al Maktoum International Airport will see a 700% rise in passenger flights.

The region’s national carrier- Emirates has confirmed that there will be a 25% drop in their operations along with cancellations and reschedules.

What Else?

Meanwhile, authorities have also introduced a shared taxi service from Maktoum airport, which will allow passengers to share taxis, thereby reducing the fare.
