Telangana Food Safety Department Inspected Restaurants In Patancheruvu

Taking to the X platform, Commissioner of Food Safety, Telangana (@cfs_telangana) shared all updates regarding the recent raids in three places in Patancheruvu.

Telangana Food Safety Department’s task force team raided three restaurants in Patancheruvu on October 1. They headed to the Babai Hotel and discovered many unhygienic sights. The officials found a live cockroach infestation inside the kitchen premises and store room. Uncovered food items were stored inside a refrigerator. Also, these foods did not have any proper labels. The team discarded expired papad and shahjeera.

The windows were kept open without an insect-proof screen. Also, doors were not fitted well to stop pests from entering inside. There was no FSSAI licence copy with the FBO. The department later got to know that the copy is currently in the application stage. In addition, the medical fitness certificates for food handlers and the analysis report for bubble water were unavailable. The team saw food handlers wearing aprons and hair caps.

The Telangana Food Safety Department raided the Kakatiya Military Hotel in Patancheruvu and discovered a live cockroach infestation in the kitchen premises and store room. Uncovered and unlabelled food items were stored inside a dirty refrigerator. The team threw away expired mustard sauce, pepper masala, poppy seeds, and sauce. They discovered water-stagnant drains with spillage.

The team observed that the doors were ill-fitted. The FBO was running the food business without a valid FSSAI licence. Medical fitness certificates for food handlers, pest control records for premises and an analysis report for water used in cooking were unavailable.

The department threw out expired dark soya sauce, vanilla flavouring agents, and Puratos’ premix.

Biscuits and different bakery food cooked, packed, and sold here did not have proper labelling. The team discovered broken tiles and uneven surfaces on kitchen floors and walls. There were no medical fitness certificates for food handlers and no analysis report for water used in food preparation. The premises had a FSSAI licence true copy.
