Telangana Food Safety Department’s task force team raided three restaurants in Patancheruvu on October 1. They headed to the Babai Hotel and discovered many unhygienic sights. The officials found a live cockroach infestation inside the kitchen premises and store room. Uncovered food items were stored inside a refrigerator. Also, these foods did not have any proper labels. The team discarded expired papad and shahjeera.
The windows were kept open without an insect-proof screen. Also, doors were not fitted well to stop pests from entering inside. There was no FSSAI licence copy with the FBO. The department later got to know that the copy is currently in the application stage. In addition, the medical fitness certificates for food handlers and the analysis report for bubble water were unavailable. The team saw food handlers wearing aprons and hair caps.
