In a recent episode of Tere Gully Mein, Curly Tales went on a food trail to explore different cuisines in the lanes of South Delhi’s Humayunpur. Also known as ‘mini-Northeast,’ this area is famous for its Northeastern dishes, offering unique delicacies like prawns, crabs, squid, tempura, octopus, laphing, and more. Specialising in the cuisine of the Seven Sisters, these streets of South Delhi serve up the fiery flavours of Nagaland, the rich tastes of Manipur, and a lot more. Joining us on this culinary adventure were two Delhi boys, Harsh Beniwal and Gagan Arora.
Harsh is known as a content king on YouTube, while Gagan has won hearts as the lover boy, Bagga, from the hit web series College Romance. The duo brought their fun, quirky energy to the food trail, sharing stories about their journey, relationships, and more, all with their Lafangey vibe.
Experimenting Food With Harsh Beniwal & Gagan Arora
When we headed to our first spot to try Northeastern cuisine, Harsh shared that he enjoys experimenting with food. During his trip to Thailand, he even tried eating crocodile. Hearing this, Gagan jokingly said, “Bhai, bachon ko apne ghar mein bacha ke rakho, yeh aadmi kuch bhi kha raha hai. Pehle shark kha gaya, phir crocodile kha gaya.” The duo’s recently released series ‘Lafangey’ is now streaming, so we asked who among them has the most lafangey (loafer) qualities. Turns out, Harsh is the mischievous one. He said, “Main tha lafanga aadmi pehle. Mera childhood waisa hi tha, doston yaaron ke saath lafangagiri kari hai maine.”
On this experimental food trail, they decided to try a hot pot brimming with a variety of seafood, like crabs, squids, prawns, and octopus. But when Gagan saw the octopus in his bowl, he couldn’t even bring himself to try it. Compared to Harsh, Gagan is less experimental with food and ended up passing the baby octopus to Harsh’s bowl. Harsh gave it a try but didn’t like it; he found it chewy and a bit weird.
At the next spot, we tried Laphing with the duo and played a fun game of ‘Who’s More Likely To?’ We asked them a series of fun questions, and whoever agreed had to take a spicy bite of Laphing as a challenge. This spicy dish led the duo to give some equally spicy answers. The twist in the game was that they weren’t allowed to drink water until the game was over. Watching them handle the spice while answering questions was truly entertaining.

Their Crazy Travel Experience
We asked them about their craziest travel experiences, and Gagan Arora shared a story from his trip to Vegas. He said, “You know what Vegas is famous for? Casinos and lap dances.” He revealed that his seniors insisted he take a lap dance, but Gagan, being a green flag, showed no interest and revealed that he was committed to his girlfriend. Even though he went to the strip club with the rest of them, he chose not to opt for a lap dance for himself.
Out of guilt, people started buying lap dances for each other, and his friends told him they were paying for a lap dance for him, too. So, unexpectedly, he got one from a lady without even asking or paying for it. He said, “Later, I got to know that somebody told her I’m from India, I work at MTV, and this is my first trip to America. And she was like, ‘Oh! Isko toh main ab 60 seconds mein America dikhaungi.”
Listening to this crazy story, Harsh added that at least Gagan’s friends were nice to him. Recalling his own travel experience, he shared how, while standing next to his friend who was talking to a girl at a club, his friend suddenly introduced Harsh as his servant.
The duo also opened up about their relationships and journey to becoming actors, played a few games, and kept the entire episode full of fun. To get all the tea, watch the full episode.
