‘Four wheels move the body, but two wheels move the soul.’ I, Kamiya Jani, the Editor-in-Chief of Curly Tales, was part of the Vespa 75th-edition Launch event by Piaggio India to celebrate 75 iconic years of Vespa. The Classic- Styled scooter with a nostalgic appeal, launched a new Vespa 75th edition. And I just had to immerse myself in the glorious celebrations and be part of the grand unveiling of the brand new Vespa.
Vespa Celebrates 75 Years Of Representing Freedom
As Vespa celebrated 75 wonderful years of representing freedom, I had a lovely time witnessing stunning collector pieces and interacting with the proud collectors from across India. Ramkiran, a collector from Hyderabad revealed that Vespa for him is a lifestyle icon that represents the past, present and future generations. A passionate Narayan from Mumbai told me that a Vespa might look tiny but it’s a power-packed rocket from that era. With iconic Hollywood films like Roman Holiday featuring the Vespa, this scooter has become a symbol of freedom and lifestyle. The different models launched by Vespa to date, shimmering in vibrant colours, is truly a testimony to this.
Diego Graffi, Chairman & MD Of Piaggio India Lives The Vespa Culture
Well, clearly the love for Vespa remains unmatched. And before I got a glimpse of the brand new Vespa 75th, I met Diego Graffi, Chairman and MD of Piaggio India. He hails from Italy but has been living in Pune for the past 4 years. In his words, the new edition of Vespa is designed at the Italian Design Centre in Italy. Vespa 75th has a unique touch of premium-ness, style and representation of heritage and legacy. He urged everyone to enjoy a ride on Vespa as it gives an experience of freedom while feeling the wind on your head. When I asked him about his time in India, Diego Graffi admitted to loving India and Indian food, especially paneer in every form. Well, with this spicy confession in mind, I couldn’t wait to see the all-new Vespa 75th covered inside the silky golden curtain.
Unveiling The Brand New Edition: Vespa 75th
As we all waited with bated breath for the grand unveiling of the Vespa 75th, the golden silk curtain was lifted and the new Vespa stood in all its glory. With the iconic monocoque full steel body and distinct glossy metallic yellow, Vespa 75th raised the bar really high. It proudly displayed the number 75 on the front bumper and side panels. The glossy metallic yellow colour gives a contemporary fresh feel to the two-wheeler. The wheels were machined alloy in dust grey colour, It’s truly the representation of the iconic history of the Vespa.
The all-new Vespa 75th comes with a special Welcome Kit that depicts its historic journey through collectable postcards and Vintage Vespa Sign that showcases the history of the classy brand. Celebrating 75 years of Vespa was truly an exhilarating experience, and the cherry on the top was undoubtedly the brand-new Vespa 75th. I can’t wait to take it for a ride and hit the road. How about you?
