There are thousands of lists and articles on the world wide web that would cite what places are the safest for women in India. Places solo female travellers can safely travel to without a worry. Here’s my recommendation of the places where women in India can feel safe at.

That’s it. That’s the list!
Let’s be honest. There might be “recommended” places where women can feel safe, but it is also a fact, to a woman it doesn’t feel so. Take any guide on solo travelling featuring women, you will also find a handy guide with a checklist as to how to ensure we double-check rooms, mirrors, how to lock doors, how to carry pepper spray or pocket knives or how we can “protect” ourselves when we are on the road or travelling to unknown (or known) places.
So, you ask me again, what are the places where Indian women feel safe (or any woman in India, for that matter)? I will over and over again say: NOWHERE!
Not in our homes, not in our workplaces, not on road, not on public transport, not at pilgrimage sites, not in remote villages, not in big cities, not in hospitals, not in jails, not in schools, not on dates, not in pubs, not in restaurants, not on vacations, not at night, not during day, not…not…not.
NOWHERE!
(Views are da*n personal. Not just mine, of every woman filled with rage in this country since the last week and every time a gory, repugnant, abominable crime is committed against a girl, woman or elderly lady)
