Bhumi Pednekar Loves Sabudana Khichdi! It Is Her Comfort Food
In a recent Instagram AMA session, the actor shared her love for everyone’s favourite sabudana khichdi. One of Bhumi’s followers asked her “What’s your comfort food when you’re feeling down or stressed”. Replying to this question on her Instagram stories, she shared that sabudana khichdi is the dish that is her go-to option in such times. The actor even called it, “Just the best”.
There is a simplicity hidden in every bite of sabudana khichdi, right? Just like Bhumi, there are many Indians who are in love with this delectable desi dish. It is actually a staple breakfast option in many Indian households.
Preparing sabudana khichdi is not at all a difficult task. The recipe to cook this dish is quite simple and does not even need a lot of time.
Here’s The Recipe To Make Sabudana Khichdi
Taking to YouTube, Chef Ranveer Brar (@RanveerBrar) shared a recipe to cook delicious Sabudana Khichdi at home.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Sabudana
- 2 Potatoes
- 3 tbsp Ghee
- Rock Salt
- ½ tsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 1 inch Ginger
- 1 Green Chilli
- ¼ cup Peanut (crushed)
- 1 tbsp Coriander Leaves
- 1 sprig Curry Leaves
- Lemon Wedges

Method:
- Start by adding some ghee in a kadai followed by cumin seeds, crushed ginger, crushed green chilli, and curry leaves.
- Cook for a few seconds, add diced boiled potatoes and crushed peanuts, and stir for some time.
- Once sauteed well for about a minute, add some rock salt, soaked sabudana, and sugar.
- Cover the kadai with a lid and let the khichdi cook for a couple of minutes.
- In the next step, sprinkle 1 tsp water, cover the kadai, and cook for a couple of minutes again.
- Once done, add coriander leaves, mix well, and serve hot.
- You can even garnish sabudana khichdi with more coriander leaves and lemon wedges.
